چکیده

Curcumin, the active compound found in turmeric, is believed to delay development of diabetes through several mechanisms. This study aimed investigate if an aqueous extract turmeric can improve glucose uptake and uric acid mouse tissues vitro, after inclusion diet for four weeks. Fourteen adult male Swiss mice were divided into three groups. The first group was control (n=6) that given clean water, second (n=4) 5% autoclaved drinking third non-autoclaved water. After weeks, cardiac muscle, skeletal pancreas, liver dissected used analysis. results showed reduced while plasma not changed. Cardiac liver, muscle absorption treatment. research shows did most tissues, although it significant due limitations this study. Tissues may need be cultured longer media processed quicker prevent evaporation. Turmeric continues show great potential treatment type 2 present alternative way treating diabetes.

Novel polymorphic microsatellite markers from turmeric, Curcuma longa L. (Zingiberaceae)

Twenty one polymorphic microsatellite loci were isolated and characterized from turmeric (Curcuma longa L.). These markers were screened across thirty accessions. The number of alleles observed for each locus ranged from two to eight with an average of 4.7 alleles per locus. The discrimination power of these markers ranged from 0.25 to 0.67 (average 0.6). The simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker...
